One-Day Waking Down Workshop
with Sylvia Woods
Sunday Oct 6, 2013
10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Dear Olympia Waking Down Friends,
I would like to spend the day with you Sunday, October 6, 2013 in a Waking Down workshop with a focus on Safety, Sharing, and Listening We come together in workshops, teacher-led sittings, and peer groups to enliven and deepen our own evolution, to be seen and heard, to hold and be held, to have companionship on our journey of life and unfolding. Speaking authentically and vulnerably in the container of a Waking Down group contributes to all three aspects of our ongoing embodied awakening process: waking (awareness), down (embodiment), and mutuality (relatedness). What does each of us need, in order to feel safe to share authentically and vulnerably? Each of us has been in many groups in our lives...our families, schools, churches, workplaces, friends, and more. We've experienced varying degrees of comfort or discomfort in these groups, and we've developed strategies for feeling safe. How can we meet and hold each other, respecting the strategies, and making room for something new? This workshop will include gazing, interactive exercises (introvert-friendly), discussion, and individual sharing.
